Muskiefool
To have Zebra Muscles, It must have been the Muskie stocking proposal from a few years back that got em in there.

50inchpig
LOL, some musky fishermen must have heard we wanted to stock muskies in it and went out prefishing, i don't know how else this could have happened

RK
LOL, some musky fishermen must have heard we wanted to stock muskies in it and went out prefishing, i don't know how else this could have happened It was me. I was out scouting spots and stopped for lunch - a round goby and zebra mussel sandwich with a eurasian water milfoil salad on the side. Guess I spilled some. My bad...In all seriousness, sad deal that zebra mussles are in yet another lake. Judging from what I'm seeing at my cabin, which is now an infested water by virtue of its connection to Pelican Lake, the biggest vector for invasives isn't 'Nomadic" muskie fishermen - it's locals leaving the lake with a livewell full of sunfish because they're too stupid and lazy to think ahead, bring a cooler, and too cheap to drop $3 on a couple bags of ice... 10,000 Casts
did you have a bucket of rusty Crayfish for an Appitizer? Sometimes, they don't cook the little b's all the way and they can climb out and head to the nearest proposed musky lake.
Nick Kuhn
Spiny water fleas and asian carp need to fit in the mix as well, along with curly leaf pondweed (I think of the invasives curly leaf is the one I most hate dealing with).

Muskiefool
We all know that Lake shore owners don't just have the wife meet em at the landing; ram the boat on the trailer and scream "Hit the gas Ma" dragging water and weeds down the road. Nope, its not that its Muskie fisherman first then all other interloping anglers. Now your gonna be tagged by the state as a threat to untainted lakes. Muskiefool
I'm sure the cooler was full of VHS water that many Muskie anglers use as a vinaigrette for their side salads of flowering rush, purple loosestrife and Chinese mystery snail. One anti-Muskie advocate working very hard to stop the Muskie stocking on Tetonka made this statement about the invasive White Perch while convincing the city council to stop the effort.(Taken from the Waterville City Council minutes)"On a couple of the lakes up north where they have had muskies in there the white fish and sucker population is gone. So then the next thing is yellow perch or white perch which in the lake here have a fairly good population of perch and stuff." I'm just wondering if the Muskies in that lake recruited these invasive white perch he's talking about or if he has no idea anything about any of the fish in that lake other than Pike. Furthermore the hypothetical notion this individual had about suckers and whitefish was discussed between himself and Mr Knapp less than a month before and he was told none of this has ever happened to the knowledge of the DNR. I asked him what lake this happened on because we need to know; he had no answer other than they were up north. Actually no-one has heard from him other than him leaving smart @$$ remarks on the answering machine of the Chapter 54 MI President. Just the kind of dedication to the truth and carrying out the duty's that are their charge; as we all expect from our elected officials. Its all about the invasive species; not about Muskies Right
cbrooks
I guess I'm kind of naive I didn't pick up the sarcasm in your previous post. Who are the anti's anyway, lake association or MDAA members. What is there main problems with muskies. They just don't want the added fishing pressure on these lakes or what?
