Arctic Armor

I ordered a pair of bibs last week and after trying them on, they felt snug. not unconfortably tight, but snug. is this the way they are designed? or should there be some baggyness? there is no crotch binding and it doesn't seem to restrict movement much. Am I ok? or should I exchange?

They should not be pulling your pants up on you. They will loosen up a bit but not much. Im 6'6" and 275# and I got the 3xl and they were a bit too snug and short for my liking so this year Im getting a pair of 4XL bibs.

I'm 6'2" and about 285. after reading these responses I think i'll keep the set of AA I have.

I don't wear jeans with my Arctic Armor bibs; just a base layer and another set of long johns. I do miss having pockets inside, though, as the bib pockets aren't htat accomodating in my opinion. Maybe some shorts would work, and I'd be dead-sexy walking around like that before putting my bibs on, too. grin

If you order the Plus Arctic Armor the Tricot lining while soft and comfortable does tend to grab your jeans as you slide them on. Keep that in mind when sizing them.

The Camo, Red/Black and black AA Bibs slide on easily.

Arctic Armor is very light and warm to -40 F, the "insultex" is waterproof, breathable and THEY FLOAT!

I use mine three seasons...Fall-Winter-Spring.

AA rules, remember there is a zipper and snaps along the side of the leg so if your pants get bound up at all it takes about 2 seconds to fix them. When sliding on your jacket just grab your sweater cuffs (or whatever your wearing) with your hand as you slide on your jacket like we've been doing since 1st grade and you won't have any problems.

I have the Arctic Armor camo suit from the OutdoorProStore and it's been awesome for archery deer and duck hunting so far.

Looking forward to one of those cold rainy mornings when the ducks are going crazy. They are a super wicked duck hunting suit smile

For those of you that ordered off the OPS, it is safe to go off the measurements they give for sizing. I don't want to wait until the ice fishing show to purchase it, and you are able to return it for a different size as long as the tags are in place and it's returned in the packaging in new condition if you order online?

I will be going with AA this year for sure. I want the camo for double duty. Its a lot of money for a suit, but I fish a lot on my own and the fact that it floats will make the wife feel better.

This last spring I picked up the Frabill Snosuit coat and bibs for $375.00. They run over $600 during the ice season. After reading this thread today I was kind of worried about them being too warm so I dug them out of the closet to try them on. I was once again very impressed with this product. No it does not float like AA but is very well built and didn't feel they were bulky as some suggested. No more bulky than the snowmobile bibs and carhartt I wore before. I was looking for warmth when I purchased these. Nothing worse than being cold on the ice. I know $600 is alot of money for ice gear but I look at stuff like this as an investment. It should give years of wear. I'm sure there are alot of good products but don't pass this one by.

It seems that they are cheaper when purchased as a "Suit" instead of individually purchased as a coat and bibs. My problem...I'm tall, and NOT FAT...So i need a smaller coat than i do bibs to get the length on the bibs. Can i still get the "Suit" price but order two different sized coat/bibs?

This world's 'one size fits all' mentality is hilarious!

So I just have the bibs because I couldn't afford the jacket also right now. Does anyone know if they will still keep me floating? I understand that water will fill them up and I will have to rush to get the hell out of the water. I never had a chance to jump in a lake with them this fall.

From the video's I have watched, there is enough floating material there to keep 3 people afloat with the bibs and jacket. However with only bibs your wrong end will be wanting to come up I'd think.

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
