comeon guys.............labor day is fast approaching.........they put the screws to us every year at this time. Of course, there is no conspiracy with the oil companies to fix and gouge the consumers. Maybe it's time for paddle-power/peddle power and inflateables eh? Up here today the price is $1.65 per for the cheap stuff(did I say cheap?). Heck, I'll go anyway. The wife can do without a new airconditioner. Summer is almost over anyway.

Yeah, I filled up in Coon Rapids last night and I paid $1.82 a gallon. My truck hogs the gas so this could get a little spendy. Hope it goes down before winter.

Good Fishin,
Matt

I guess I got by cheap(In comparision). I paid $1.56(with the fleet farm $.04 coupon)at the St. Cloud Fleet Farm yesterday afternoon. Everone else around St. Cloud was $1.69 a gallon.

Must be getting close to the weekend! They usually hike it up on Thursday afternoons around here.

I bad day of fishing??? I honestly don't know what you're talking about!

Borch, went into St. Cloud this am also from the east side and gas was up to $1.83. Woo is me my truck gets a whoopping 10 miles to the gallon. Sucks when you have a 40 gallon tank and plan on going fishing and camping for a weekend.

I just returned from a 2 nite fish/camp up the gunflint......went to fill the truck and was shocked to discover the gas prices had gone up almost $.30 in 2 days.....it's now $1.87 per gal. I'm pis@#& now. What can we do, anything? Time to look into horse & buggy I guess, Sure as heck, the price of hay will take a jump then.

Isn't it just amazing how they can jack the price up and not have to even explain why they did? As I see it, you can handle it two ways. 1. Patronize only the stations that stay under the max price in the area. (Like here in the Twin Cities-Friday they were all at 1.83-all of them-except the place I always buy my gas-they were at 1.77. 2. Drive less.
It's the suppliers that are jacking the price, not the retailers (that's what they say anyhow.) But when they see one place is getting 1.83, and then they just jack theirs up to match it, and then we just bend over and pay it....it's never gonna change...They'll just keep going until there's a public outcry. Ya think anyone will listen? I doubt it. Dubya is an oil man.

It's amazing to me that some people blame all of our (USA) problems on George W. Does any one honestly believe that he has any thing to do with setting gas/oil prices? Ever hear of the concept of supply & demand? My $.02

Price fixing is against the law!! No can tell me that they are not price fixing, just look at the way that prices go up, every place at the same time. Give me a break, what do they think we are sheep.

It should be up to our Government leaders, and that should include GW,to step and at least do away with price fixing. They may not be able to keep prices down, but at least keep the market fair.

Not everyones gas reserves in their underground tanks hold the same amount of gas, to run out at the same time. So there is no reason for everyone to have the same price at the same time. At the very least they are charging us for what the gas may cost in the future not what they paid for it. And they do it as a group, that is price fixing.

This was several years back, but in the town of Superior WI. one station owner kept his prices below the rest of the pack and wound up with broken windows and pumps for his fairness. Kinda sounds to me like he went against the rest of the group and paid the price.

Maybe this topic belongs in the forum that handles political issues eh?....Now there's a place I avoid. I didn't mean to open a can of worms on Bush in my last post. That was a mistake. The gas prices are now national headline news. I'm betting the negative exposure at least brings a few answers and I also hope it brings the price back down. If it doesn't, I'll change my handle to Ben Dover.
