Effect of acorns on the deer

I see that some of the trees are starting to drop some acorns lately. How does the dropping of acorns affect the patterns of the deer. Will they tend to hit the acorns more and less on the regular food sources or does it not have that much of an affect on them? Just looking for some knowledge on the deal.

If its white oak acorns the deer will definately feed more on the acorns and less on food source you have patterned them too. Make sure to scout your food source closer to opener and see if the deer are hitting it during shooting light. If not, the deer are likely slowing moving munching the acorns enroute. Set up on the trail the deer are using to get to the food source rather than the food source itself and give yourself a chance to catch one with his head down crunching!
