Hey guys-

If I understand correctly - the fish couldnt be revived.

It wasnt a matter of replica vs real or should he have C&R vs keeping it.

It sounds like the fish wasnt revivable.

As some of the other posters mentioned - the water is just too warm right now for a Muskie to survive the stress.

Was out at Independance the other night and the water temp was still

85 degrees at 10PM. I know thats surface temp - but its still warm below that for sure! and not much Oxygen.

PS At 53 inches this time of year - that fish would be lucky to go upper 30s...maybe 40-42 tops.

I met this guy last year on the bear and to put it nicely he doesn't have the greatest release equipment. I saw pictures of a few muskies that he laid down on the cushions of his pontoon that made me a little worried. He fishes a lot with basically one bait and one spot. He has caught his fair number of muskies, but makes me sad that this one didn't go back.
