Stabilizers?

I need a new stabilizer - and am wondering how much of an actual difference between one 6 inch 8 oz to another company's same size and weight? there are tons out there and if anyone has a good one to look at - let me in on the scoop. it will be put on a hunting bow(just so someone doesn't think i need one of them 4 footers).

I'm not sure, but I did recently order a 8" DOA from Xtreme on AT. Lots of hunters there are very pleased with those. I'll let you know after I get it and see what difference it makes.

if you want it to actually help stabilize your bow you'll need a 4 footer, otherwise hunting stabilizers won't stabilize anything, they're to short. but some of those rubber style hunting ones will help with bow vibration.

mines on the hunting bow to even the wieght out a bit. And it cuts down on vibration so things stay tight longer.

I don't even use one not even on my target bow i hate all the weight out front.

Using one with rubber dampening material out on the end or across the length work best for vibration. Some are short and some longer. The weight factor is a big help to do it's job.

At 8oz, that's 1/2 pound, not bad. If you find one over 9oz. that's better in a short stabilizer. I've seen some micro short that I wouldn't give a second look at, really not worth a penny compared to just limb and string silencers.

octane, carbon exprss and doinkers make some great stabilizers that would be beneficial in length, material and weight.
