We had a place on Ottertail that we sold four years ago so, I know the area and the lake well. When the wind was not howling the fishing was very good.

Thanks chuckwagon! It's just a combo of a wide open aperture and a background that is a bit of a distance from the main subject.

The mixed lighting on some of these is most pleasing to the eye. The black eyed susan image is just plain classy.

Thanks for those very nice words. I really have never spent any time trying to shoot small birds before so I really learned how hard it is to produce quality images of them. My lack of real top notch bird images gives me even more respect for your bird images and great images of others here. I did appreciate the opportuity to get a few shots of the Red Headed Woodpecker.
