lungdeflator
Do they generally stay away from each other? One of my best whitetail spots would also be an awesome spot for bears. Would baiting there ruin the spot for whitetails?
3pronghook
isnt that where beer comes from?

Boar
Ha thats good, deer tend to stay away from bear, bear would love to get their paws on new fawns. Deer wont vacate an area because of bear but would rather just move outa the way, In my opinion. Boar
lichen fox
We generally don't see many deer while sitting on our baits but there is often deer sign on our trails going into our bait...I can only remember a couple of times we have seen deer while hunting a bear bait and on one occassion the deer was standing about 15 yards to the west of us when the bear came in and my partner put an arrow through the bear! Boar
Baiting will hurt the area more than the bear will, your gonna leave alot of scent around an disturbe the area alot going to an from as your baiting, if you stop baiting bear will move on but the area will be contaminated with you scent for awhuile. Mature deer wont tolerate that. 2cents boar
KGPZ
Used one of my better deer stands for bear one year. This deer stand always produced deer, lots of activity, year after year. I did not see one deer out of that stand in the fall of the same year I hunted bear. The following year it was not used for bear and deer activity picked up again. COINCIDENCE? Finlander
Deer and bear get along fine. Watch all the Disney shows and you will see!

HooknHorns
The stand i baited last year produced a bear but the funny thing is my camera for some reason only took pictures of a doe. The bear even dueced in front of the camera and still no pic. It may matter whats on it for bait. If its meat scrapes, it may bring in other critters like wolves that may keep the deer away. I live too far south, but loved to own land in bear country.
HunterLee
I wouldn't do it. Thats my opinion.

bogwalker
Bear are a primary predator of deer fawns in Northern Minnesota. You can quickly ruin a good deer hunting spot by baiting bear there. At least this has been my experience.
Boar
What I do on my land is hunt bear on one end of the 80 an hunt bow hunt deer on the other end, I've seen an ocassional doe walk by my bear site, but my disturbence will have pushed the majority of deer to the other end of the property or onto adjacent properties. JigginGopher
Last season was the first time I had ever caught bear on my trail cam and the deer population was significantly down as well. Maybe coincidence maybe not. I have already seen her and her two new cubs on trail cam this year so I'm hoping it was only a coincidence!
