I am not sure if some of the (well known but not well known) south metro bait stores carry chubs? I was just talking with a friend who was heading to New Ulm and going to make a couple more miles to Winklers in Mancuckoo. I guess she has 4" on up in stock. That is not the metro though like LFC said.

It's not the metro, but Jerry's in Mora has them and he sells them as river minnows or river bait. Since I don't have a spot to catch them, I always want to bring some home, but the pike never leave me any left overs when I use them.

If you're ever in Mankato, you can get them at the Dam Store at the Rapidan dam, they used to sell them at Gander, but they stopped like three years back. Turns out their supplier was the Dam store anyways

The problem with most metro creeks is that many flow out of an infested body of water. It's even hard to find a Bullhead pond around here without Milfoil.

Are there even any lakes left in the metro not infested????

Its not surprising that the bullies come up a little short sometimes with everyone rounding up bait.

Reading through the proposed fish and game bill the other night I came across a clause in which they are propsing that cylindrical traps will be allowed on infested waters (milfoil only).

I think they are starting to reallize that in order for people to harvest bait, there are going to have to be some compromises, otherwise you won't be able to get bait anywhere. Plus I think trasferring milfoil via a fish is probably low risk. The bigger concern is transferring via the water or nets.

So it's possible in the near future that we will be able to get bait from infested waters with a trap at least.
