So what should we expect as far as Lottery & Managed areas this year?

Pretty much the same as last year, more lottery, more managed, what's it looking like?

I know you probably can't spill all the beans now, just starting to plan my fall calendar. Trying to figure out how many times I should plan on going to Wisconsin bow hunting vs staying home.

The areas of greatest interest to me personally are: 213 & 214

July is just SO FAR away. We can't wait until then...

PS- Know of any support groups for deer hunting addicts?

As someone who visits the Deer forum year round I'd say we are our own support group. Sometimes it gets a little slow but it doesn't take much to fire up a 20 pager.

I'm also interested to see what areas might be changing this coming fall. Lucky I can fish and play golf to kill time while waiting for bow season to open.

The way neighboring zones are being reduced to lottery, I'm almost worried for 240!

Yeah it hurt last year when the zone my land is in went from managed to lottery. I ended up scouting a new area so I could use a management tag on a doe. The previous couple of years I'd been spoiled by being able to take multiple does early and sit back and be choosey about buck hunting.

Depending on what happens I'll possibly start springing for a Wisconsin tag again. I quit heading that way when the bag limits got more liberal in Minnesota, but it's starting to look like it's worth the cash again.

Hope it stays lottery down this way. Lots of Zones around us too have been going Lottery, either way I will still be hanging from a tree some where in September.

I am really thinking of trying for one of the all city hunts to harvest a doe.

July, yes, but not usually until the end of the month.

Big-do you hunt public or private in WI? I want to start hunting there, but I don't know anyone and that makes it hard to spring for the $160 tag.

All private so far. My brother-in-law's a pastor over there, it's a pretty good in, since I hunt with him.
