Power Pro line?

The fading doesn't seem to hurt anything. If you are nervous about it, tie the end to a tree or something and let all the line out. Then cut it off the reel and go back to where you started, tie that end on and reel in on. ( in otherwords just reverse it! grin) That line hasn't seen any use and is like new so you can get atleast two seasons out of it.

I do the same thing and I get a couple years out of mine.

Has anyone experienced a problem with the thin diameter line cutting into the guides? I haven't had this problem, but I hear it happens. I've been using the 10/2 on my jigging rod.

I also reverse all my line when I do my seasonal reel maintenance, gives me something to do before opener and nice to know everything is in good working order, before I step on one getting into the boat. doh!

If worn lightly on the upper 1/3 of the spool, back-wind it to another reel/spool, as to get max use of your line.

If just a bit dry, I recommend you pick up a bottle of the Ardent Line Butter and spray it down. It will rehydrate and slicken up the Power Pro, and cast like new line. Good stuff!

If significantly low or frayed, and it will effect your casting, replace with new and then treat it with the Line Butter to protect it.
