Being that it's a football only stadium now and they thought the turf was unsafe, they replaced it. I assume they didn’t want to make cut outs for 1st, 2nd and 3rd base in the new turf given its not justified. I mean with a weak draw, I would think the Gophers are even covering the costs of using the venue so I don’t think the MSFC was looking to make modifications for them.

I was just down there "DOME" watching some High School ball and I was thinking it was a maintenance issue to save money! Just way easier to have it all turf versus paying the up keep and removing the Turf sections that cover it.

It did look weird for sure!

On a side note the State High school Championship games are at Target Feild this year!

What a thrill for the highschoolers!!!!! Yeah they didn't have dirt back in Febuary when all the NSIC college games were being played in the dome either. It does look wierd but not the end of the world! Yes the Gophers baseball team is LONG overdue for a stadium! They keep saying its next on the list (before a practice facility for Tubby and the b-ball team)

how the ---- are they supposed to slide? I suppose the same way the FB blayers do but that would be wierd..

Also, if they have to build the New Vikings Stadium where the Dome is, where do the Vikes play for a season?

TCF stadium probably. That's what the bears did when they renovated soldier field, played at illinois' stadium (which is like 60 miles away from chicago), at least the vikings (and fans) will only have to travel about 5 minutes.
