Scott K
I just hope they take someone with the 34 pick, and not trade down. There are several good players I want them to pick now, that will be gone later.
Scott K
Cook huh! Wasnt my choice, but it was a need!
LMITOUT
We waited 18 hours for that?
LMITOUT
Cook has good size for his position at 6-foot-2 and 212 pounds. His career at Virginia was hindered by injuries and academic problems. So much for the triangle of accountability.
james_walleye
Such the reason he was a 2nd rounder and not a 1st rounder, speaking of injuries that it. Havent heard anyone say a thing anywhere about academics. Didnt we listen to this from you last year with Harvin?? haha, didnt work out to bad. On a side note, wow, both Clausen and McCoy get by the browns and bills. With the names still on the board, the vikings are going to get a nice player with their next pick. james_walleye
Ya, being the best rookie in the NFL certainly means nothing. Didnt help the team at all did he......
LMITOUT
Best rookie compared to who? An offensive lineman? Wow. Impressive.
LMITOUT
Move over AP, here comes a guy who can catch and doesn't fumble - Toby Gerhart.
zamboni
If you truly think Harvin stunk last year, you're a moron
LMITOUT
Where did I say he stunk? He's just not as good as all the rubes are making him out to be, that's all. Not to mention his head problems which are a big question mark week to week. How can you successfully game plan around a guy who never practices? Having a QB like Favre hid some of those issues, but the chickens will come home to roost sooner than later with Harvin.
zepman
Cook was the Vikes 4th pick for a corner and I thought they REALLY reached for him considering what talent that was there when they picked. He looks soft to me.Gerhart = awesome pick and someone who'll contribute right away...can't wait to watch the kid run.Price at the #34 pick combined with Gerhart would have looked much better. soldoncass
Wow, CB and RB....didn't see those coming at all. I thought Gerhart reminded me of Larry Csonka in the Miami heyday, but I didn't think Chili would go that route. I didn't realize we lost Paymar (cb), so I guess we were still one short. Hope they like some LB and S prospects in later rounds.....rarely do they make an immediate impact from down there though. Should be interesting......even if NOT agreeable. LMITOUT
Vike's need the Patriot's strategists. Wow, did they work the draft over. Pure mastery.

Stcloudangler
Yeah, Cook looks like a gangbanger, but Gerhart will be a nice addition, especially in the Red Zone. I do like Cook's size though, I think he will be a Al Harris type CB in a few years- Winfield better start sharpening his strong safety skills now.... CodyDawg
I think we gave up too much to move up 11 spots in the draft. heck, for a 3rd rounder we could have had Boldin right? Or someone like him for sure. I could give a [PoorWordUsage] about rounds 5-7, those players seldom make the team and if they do, I cant think of one to make an impact since John Randle (and he wasnt drafted).Decker to the Broncs. We should have traded the Broncs all of our 5th, 6th, and 7th rounders for him. I hope the best for him. He has a chance to make an impact there methinks. Its not like there is a couple of studs ahead of him.

But the guy was the rookie of the year. He had a HUGE impact for this team and for you to try to downplay that is...well...i guess not surprising. I forget who im talking to sometimes. You would think playing that bit would get old. I mean really, how many teams that picked above the vikings last year regret passing on Harvin?? I would call that making an impact.
LMITOUT
Winfield better start sharpening his strong safety skills now.... Winfield should just hang it up. Why the Vikings still retain him is beyond me.
