slipbobbin
Im sure we all will find out tomorrow on how costly it really is.
Juneau4
It all depends on what NASCAR wants. Did anyone notice all the empty seats at Atlanta, and how easy it is to buy seats this year? The special offers for seats. NASCAR is dieing for fan support. They are becoming a second pro wrestling entertainment!
minnbowhunter
It is no secret that Brad is an agressive driver. Like him or not, it is what it is. Knowing that, why would Carl expect him to lift to let him in? That was his first mistake. It would'nt be so bad but he wrecked the 20 car in the process. After being down 160 laps he intentionally takes out a top 10 car. If you want payback wait till Bristol. Or "discuss it by hand" in the pits after the race. Don't tear up a bunch of cars and maybe hurt someone. It will be interesting to see what NASCAR decides to do. They are the ones that wanted to turn the drivers loose. bassNspear
gonna be ugly at Bristol
Juneau4
Bristol probably won't be ugly. Ever since it was rebuilt 2-3 years ago there has been less pushing because of more lanes to run in. Martinsville is another story.
LMITOUT
They were saying that the wall has been brought in about three feet (SAFER barrier), and that may produce better action on the track. I hope so because I agree, since they reconfigured the surface the racing hasn't been the same Bristol we had become accustomed to.
&JAG
I agree. Hope it is better racing this year in Bristol!
gregg52
everybody keeps saying the 99 should not have taken out a top 10 car in my mind and i think edwards that is exactly why he took him out i'm sure his thought was he takes me out and gets a top 10 no way!!!!!! not sayin it might not have happen if the 12 wasnt up there but maybe not carl just used bad judgement at those speeds i'm not sure outa drivers who could lay edwards out maybe newman would give him a a good fight..tonys to fat...lol
harvey lee
greg52-you lost me on that one.
Jeremy airjer W
I think what he is sayin is that carl took him out because there is no way the guy that "caused" carl to wreck should be able to have a top ten.
gregg52
ya exactly airjer i'm not the best writer i guess it has to hurt more if the guy that wrecks you goes on to have a good run they can read that scorin pilon

Jeremy airjer W
Newman, Stewart, harvick, and jimmy for sure.
Johnsonator
I don't think there is a racer in the garage that could take Carl, but I am sure there are plenty of crew guys that could!
Juneau4
BK has caused more wrecks than anyone else recently. Didn't most of the crews and drivers applaud Hamlin when he took him out last year? Nascar will play this episode-with the media to the fullest. Now that Danica is gone for a few weeks what else do they have for hype-Jr. just doesn't cut it anymore. &JAG
I've seen Carl up close twice... Also got his autograph in Texas be it for my mother in law, it was painful to ask him for anything lol. My brother and I are bother 5'11" and he's built just like Edwards a beanpole with all muscle around 175 lb. I'm broad like Newman and weight 225 lb. I was so surprised at how much bigger (bulk-same height) I was than Edwards, after seeing all those muscle photos of him. TV does him a lot of justice he really isn't that big at all, built like a bike racer! I believe Bowyer, Newman, Stewart and Harvick would give him a good go round! Bowyer and Newman I think would win 7 outta 10 times and Stewart and Harvick have the "crazy eyes" and you just don't mess with that! Rage overcomes all and Stewart and Harvick are chalk full of that, at a moment.
&JAG
I agree. There is no way he is getting suspended with the short tracks coming and NASCAR letting them police themselves this year and all. It will be great for tv and the media!! Even though he should sit a race... We should have a thread on a guess what the penalties will be
slipbobbin
3 race probation, no fine or points loss as of now with another meeting with between Edwards and Bk and Jack. Helton's response was that he is more concerned about Bk's car getting airborne instead of Edwards actions. Im sure there is more to come. harvey lee
Now we will call NASCAR, rock um and crash um.No real penalty for Edwards.http://www.sportingnews.com/nascar/article/2010-03-09/edwards-gets-probation-for-wrecking-keselowski
HOF#13
Now we will call NASCAR, rock um and crash um.No real penalty for Edwards.http://www.sportingnews.com/nascar/article/2010-03-09/edwards-gets-probation-for-wrecking-keselowski It certainly could turn into that. I thought NASCAR went a little light on this one. A meeting with both drivers & owners and 3 races of probation (I don't even know what that means to NASCAR as I have never seen NASCAR do anything worse to a driver who is on probation). NASCAR said they were going to let the driver's settle it and it looks like they mean it, although I think this situation would have been the perfect time for NASCAR to draw the so called "line in the sand" for the driver's. What the driver's found out today was basically that anything goes. Now, I have been begging NASCAR for 2 years to make the races more exciting to watch, but this isn't what I had in mind. I would much rather see bumper to bumper and door to door racing, than see an inadvertant bump in the corner turn into a retaliatory wreck every 25 laps. I really hope the driver's / NASCAR don't let this get out of hand.
harvey lee
I guess Brad K can recieve a free pass now. Let the crashes begin. If your teammate is in a lower spot in the points, just have your teammate take him out. This could get very interesting and NASCAR just opened the flood gates for more. You can bet on that.
