beaver11
does anyone know if my navionics hotmap 09 card will work this gps?thanks
0 eyebjim
the endura series takes the micro sd cards not the regular sd so no unless the chip you have is a micro sd.
0 bigbad401
Plus, the Endura series uses a different file system than the older Lowrance GPS, so even if you had a micro SD card I don't think it would work. Last years Lakemaster chips don't work in the Endura series GPS.
0 Ed Carlson
The 2010 Nav chips just came out in a Micro/SD Converter chip format. BUT...there was/is still some confusion on if the new chips will operate in the Endura....or...if there is yet another update required for the Endura before you can use the new 2010 Nav chip? Personally, I just don't "GET IT"? Running out a new model line, and not have any of the mapping figured out before hand...I just don't get it? 0 eyebjim
this type of stuff is the reason i switched from lowrance to the bird for my boat electronics. my next hand held will be a garmin as soon as my h20 quits.
0 Scott K
I was looking at the Endura line last week, and had done some research. I wanted to use the Lakemaster chip in it. I seen that the update is listed to come out in March for it. I went to a couple stores(Cabelas, Gander MT), and talked to them about the Endura's, they told me if I wanted to use it for Mapping, dont buy it! They both reccommended finding an older H2O, or buying a Garmin. I asked them why, they told me that Lowrance released the Endura models, and havent figured out a mapping system to work with them, I told them they have posted on their HSOforum it will be released March 1st, the guy told me dont hold your breath, they have been promising updates for a year now.So instead of getting the info from a second word of mouth, I figured I would get the info right from Lowrance, so I called them, what he told me was they are waiting for Lakemaster to update their chips, then Lowrance would update their systems, and they have been waiting on Lakemaster. So I took it a step further and called LakeMaster, they told me they are waiting for Lowrance to update their systems so they can transfer their product on to a chip to work with the Endura line. I told them that Lowrance told me that they are waiting for Lakemaster to update, the guy on the phone laughed, said ya that sounds like something they would say, but it isnt how it is. So I ended up not buying anything, I figured if the stores that sell the product tell me not to buy it, and the company that makes them, dont have a straight answer to tell me, this doesnt sound like a good product to buy. So I ended up with some stuff for my boat instead.
0 bigbad401
Lowrance had originally said the Lakemaster would be fixed around the first of the year, and now it is 3 months later. They no longer support the H2O (iFinder series) but the Endura series does not work with maps, great business model.

0 deadeye
this type of stuff is the reason i switched from lowrance to the bird for my boat electronics. my next hand held will be a garmin as soon as my h20 quits. Pretty much the same thought here. I really like my h20 but when it dies I am going with a Garmin. Its nuts to release a product like that and not have all the specifics and accessories lined up. Even if they waited another 6 months to release it they would have been better off. They might have a really good product but nobody will buy one if they can't back it up with anything. 0 PerchJerker
Lowrance has their own mapping product that works in the Endura series, similar to the way Garmin has their own mapping products that work in their units. The problem with Enduras for this part of the country --- and it's a huge problem --- is that the Enduras won't read LakeMaster or Navionics data yet. LakeMaster and Navionics map data is by far the best for this part of the country, but in other parts of the country LakeMaster is non-existant and Navionics is far behind what we have here, so in some areas the Lowrance maps are the best option. It sounds like LakeMaster and Navionics compatability will be added to the Enduras "soon", but we heard that all year last year too. I can't recommend that anyone gets one of these Endura units for fishing purposes until LM and Nav compatibility is out there and working.
