I know my days are numbered, but...

Just a guess but I would go in the middle where that long 10 foot point is. Start at 8-10 feet and make your make to the 30 foot hole. That seems like a great pinch point for any fishing.

Boker001, you and I think a like! wink

That would be the first place I'd try, drilling a line of holes from the deeper water up onto the point, and fish all the holes until I found what I was looking for.

Then I'd try the hump (comes up to 18 in 20 fow). I'd drill hole along the edges and up on top, and fish til I found what I was looking for.

I might be alittle different than anyone else but I would look in the bays.... What I mean, it looks like there might be a river coming in from the left? I would look out in front of that in 10 to 18 feet of water, fish now are starting to move towards spawning moods and will start to migrate towards there spawning grounds. I would also look on the right hand side of the lake back towards the open water ( that might be a warm water discharge or something it could have the water just a few degrees warmer there if thats what it is) and to the right out from the submerged vegetation bay, look in the same depth. Thats just me but if the point doesnt work it might be another place to look!

Thanks for your suggestions guys. One more thing. Good walleye spawning habitat is lacking in this lake and the walleye population is sustained by stocking. Does that change where one should look for them?

Just because they are stocked does not mean they lose their spawning instinct. Often they will stage in deeper water closer to the spawning habitat until conditions are correct.

hcmpls1, your from Wright, is this lake close to home? I'm thinking just maybe? huum, well you have done well at keeping the lake name and any road numbers off the map! Good luck out there this weekend as it is the last Hoora! Oh if the eye's aren't biting try crappies in the two deeper holes! winkgrin

Nope. Its a couple hours north. I wouldnt expect any traffic this weekend or in the future so thats not why I kept the name off the post... I just tried to crop the lake more so not to get razzed by the locals up there. wink

It would depend on which way the wind was blowing. All the spots mentioned are good just keep moving until you find them.

Just glancing at that, I really like that extended point that is adjacent to the small 30ft hole.

It looks like a good scoured hole to me too. A good pinch point when the wind is from the SW (with the top of the map being north).

Great ideas, work the wind, check out the creeks coming into the bays, and the major point.

There is another point I like on the west part of the lake on the north side. The point has a nice weedline on it with a finger that runs to 20 feet. I would imagine they use this during stable weather in summer.

Another point is the lake looks like it has good veg. cover. Deep weedlines are great for walleyes, I always feel if walleyes are on the weedlines they are there to feed. Have fun.
