disposil of skins and such

I watched someone walk across the lake the other day with a sled and bucket. this had me wondering, I got on my sled and went looking, what I found was several small game skins and such disposed of on the edge of the cat tails.

this brings two questions to mind;

1. is this legal?

2. and when does small game close?

Thanks! Mike

Squirrel and rabbits are open until the end of Feb. Some furbearers are still open and coyotes and some others are unprotected so the season is year-round.

As for the skins and such, it could be littering or wanton waste if they didn't take the meat. If it was something to be concerned about contact your local CO or just call the TIP line.

I talked to the CO awhile ago, he said the same. But where this has me wondering. The meat was gone, but it't still wonton waste when it's left on the lake, as far as I'm concerned. Just like duming fish guts in the lake. I almost wonder if there ia a defence going on.

Thanks for your help.

Speaking of dumping my friend e-mailed me that my ditch/frontage is full of litter again. He said bring plenty of bags for in a few weeks we clean it up. We both agree how pathetic people are becoming as it has worsened over the years.

Unfortunately in current economic times people are probably being cheap and not wanting to spend money on waste disposal..I have been hearing more and more bizarre stories of scams, out right thievery..can only assume its going to get worse before it gets better..best to hang the money bag high in the tree.

Things are pretty ugly. In my mind when 911 went down many got this spend spend spend, not guaranteed tomorrow, live for today heck with tomorrow plus the internet/tech craze and everybody 1 uping each others businesses and ideas. My wife and I are seriously considering a move to ND. We are both tiring of the rat race here in MN. My code-name would have to change to Devils Lake Buck or something. It's too bad it has switched from caring for others to simply caring for thy self, what am I going to get out of it. The amount of quality role models in our state has shrunk drastically and quickly. Heck our elected officials and athletic role models a big % can't maintain, seems like so many have demons as well. Everybody wants a piece of your check. It's a crazy world and quit dumping your carcasses on my approach, looks like a graveyard down there and I think the one(s) doing so read this and know so I'd appreciate you using your own 400 acres to dump them on, last deer seasons 4 wheeler tracks kinda led to your place of course.

Is this the Mills approach?

Different approach at my Wadena acreage, although the one in mills is nasty as well. I actually found a tag on one of them that had a hibbing, MN address in Mills. These guys in Wad's, it's really nasty, especially now that things are thawing a bit, it stinks and there are likely a few different dudes doing this, my guess is they stay in town and take the first gravel out of town and find a spot where they can't be seen. That would be my graveyard. I can only guess as one night I drove down there and a truck slowly rolled by, well I know who and where they hunt and they have like 400 acres but it's you know 20 miles away so that's the deal, not the end of the world though.

That's a bit of luck. I would contact the dnr to see if something could be done, since you have their cast off tag.

The deal is if they'd ask it wouldn't be a big hassle. I'm in that 99% sure who it is so the next time I see a family member I'll just tell them to give me a call and I have a spot that would be ok for them to use but I'd like to show one of them where it is and it wouldn't be a problem. Also some trapper guy dumps his skinned coons and fox each year, wish he'd find out who owns that land and I'd show him the place that would be acceptable, then again there's a local dog that likes to carry off that stuff, he'd be bummed out lol.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
