Shetek A Great Winter Catfishing Lake!!!!!!

For all the fisherman that like to catch catfish I would like mention that Shetek has a huge amount of channel cats that seem very easy to catch even in the winter. I don't fish for them but catch quite a few fishing for crappies and walleyes and I would think if you targeted them you could catch all you wanted.

Just looked at a map of shetek. Not sure where you would start looking for cats in there. Looks like the deepest spot is 9 ft.

Been there and caught channels.

When I was fishing there for the first time, yeas there are some spots that do hold cats.

I live in the NE Metro so I won't be fishing Shetek. But this thread has got me thinking.... how do you catch channels in the winter? In lakes during the summer, I use either worms or cutbait. I was thinking about heading out to a lake nearby that has channels to see if I could get one through the ice but I'm kind of clueless how to go about it. I have rods and tip-ups.

I'd be willin to go cattin on Shetek, it's my old stompin grounds down that way, plus Bloody lake next to it has some mighty fine crappies as well
