the 25 to 1 was the old mixture they recommended but now they have went to the 40 to 1 mixture with no issues. I have a 20+ yr old magIII that had the 25 to 1 sticker on it. last year when I had it tuned up at strikemaster they told me to go to the 40 to 1 mixture.

For what its worth, I bought and Auger used from a guy online in my town. He swore up and down he used Amsoil religously...Brought the auger in last week because it was running poor. well come to find out the prior owner did something, or perhaps I did...the only common thing we both did was use amsoil. I used the 100:1 with some seafoam. My engine guy dumped it out and we examined the cylinder= scratched and toasted...New Solo though:)

Moral...use the suggested oil. I would follow the manual @ 40:1 and wouldn't bother with amsoil. Just me. Good luck.

Just a hard lesson I learned, thought I would share.

I put an ounce of Seafoam into my gallon of mixed gas each time I fill up. I mix at about 75:1 with Saber Professional and have had no issues with any of my 2 stroke small engines for going on 6 years now.

I have used Amsoil Sabre for about 15 years or so in all my 2 stroke motors. Never had a issue running it at between 90:1 to 100:1. I broke my Nils in at 60:1 or so and after the 1st gallon went to 90:1 or so. Best thing I ever did to my augers.

I had a old Jiffy Legend 3 horse 10" cut. It was a pig and was always dripping oil out the exhaust and smoked like a chimney.

I dumped the old Jiffy oil out and went to Amsoil and that baby never ran so good. No smoke, no oil dripping and it cut better than new.

Im a firm believer in the Sabre.

I ran the 25:1 in my auger,(what the book said when I bought it). Started to blow a black poily junk out of the exhaust, switched to 50:1 did not help. Past two years been running Amzoil Sabre, auger starts easiler and runs better.

With a zeal like most I too run amsoil sabre in all my gear, old or new from day one, because I have that much faith in it and for all different brands of rigging . .

If you can't run such a simple mix so that it covers all similar two stroke motors SOLO included .. Then I ask the manufacturers of these motors to answer " WHY NOT " . It's being done as there is ownerws of jiffys,strikemasters ,nils and stihl's etc making the same claim .

Simply put "the gear performs better" and seems to last on Amsoil sabre pro or opti 2 even for a mix at high ratios .

This is the very first time for me to hear of a prob where it is claimed amsoil ever scored a piston or anything else .

Should be worth noting...Before doing this I had my auger in for service and figured all my problems were due to fuel....It was not an authorized service dealer. I probably was the one that screwed it up, It was non-oxy fuel, I bought 1.8 gallons, and added 2 packets of the sabre for a 100:1 mix. I assumed that by using a little less fuel I could beef up that ratio... my un-doing was adding the seafoam, as another poster may have mentioned. Had I been aware of it I would not have used it. Needless to say I will stick with the fuel I'm using till at leat the end of the year. last year I used the sabre oil just fine in an older SM Maglll around a 70:1. Amsoil is great stuff if used properly, just learned a hard lesson. I will try to get a pic of that cylinder in the next few days.

I feel the problem was the premix packets. I never had an issue when I mixed it myself. These packets from the bait shop said to mix w/ 1 gallon of gas. so I had 2 packets for 2 gallons.

I'll probably switch next year, but have to use the gas up.

      Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!

      we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.

      I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.

      reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
