It all depends where the stroke was and what type it was. Hemmoragic or a clot. Many people have strokes an have 0 deficcets at all but of coarse there are one that only very limited use of ther functions.

right, if he was in port and the stroke was related to a clot and he got clot busting drugs he could return to his pre stroke status. Glad he is at least awake and talking, according to his HSOforum post that is

It seems like those guys who are sedentary for hours on end are susceptible to those nasty clots. Alex Debogorski from Ice Road Truckers got one in season two of that show. I am guessing being in those lines of work and the associated lifestyle that may not lend itself to healthy habbits adds to the risk.

Phil has a partner in the boat, so I'm sure the F/V Cornelia Marie will continue crabbing!!
