BlueLundFishrman
Unexcused absences have resulted in Bryant McKinnie of the Vikings being booted off the NFC Pro Bowl team. He is also now subject to a fine by the NFL.

rayguy
Viking Pride! Heck he should not of been on there anyway.
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 30, 2010 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 30, 2010 Who cares, the Pro Bowl is a joke this year anyway. They should call it the Pro Bowl Back-ups Game
LundExplorer
I'd agree, the Pro Bowl is a who cares event. But this type of behavior by McKinnie is one more reason why he has gotta go.
JBMasterAngler
Personally I think he's the only guy on the team we NEED to get rid of. Sure he has some bright spots here and there, but he's been an underachiever his whole career, time to get someone that will at least give 100% effort on every play. Inthehollow
I also agree it is a joke the back up bowl why wouuld you not show for this I do not think they are over worked not good.
zamboni
I am sure he will sleep good tonight on that pile of money he makes and not worry one bit about being kicked off the squad.
fishersofmen
Lets see, party it up in Miami or risk injury playing in a lame game that 3 people will be watching. Easy choice for me.
LMITOUT
It is an easy choice: play the game you've been selected to by your fans and peers for your outstanding work on the field, instead of acting like a selfish, overpaid, disrespectful piece of garbage. fishersofmen
"Outstanding work on the field". I always love that one. We are talking about Bryant McKinnie here Lmit.
LMITOUT
The fan voting happened in October.
rayguy
The worst part is he did this to his coach, Chilly. If he has this little respect for him there he has no respect for him here. He is not that good and his past history proves he is a loose cannon. He should be trade bait right now.
fishersofmen
Regardless of when the voting took place the "fans" could care less about this game as everyone has posted..... Basically a hyped up scrimmage.
LMITOUT
I think you're missing the concept of being named to the Pro Bowl. It isn't so much playing the all-star game itself, but rather the title of being named a pro-bowler or "all pro". It says you were one of the best in your position for the season and it should be considered an honor and a reward for your hard work. Granted McKinnie's performance fell off after the fan voting took place and in the end he probably didn't deserve it, but at the time the vote was held he was one of the better players at his position. Why they have the fan voting so early doesn't make sense to me.
LMITOUT
Meanwhile, we can't help but notice the contrast between McKinnie and his teammate Steve Hutchinson, who is playing despite a shoulder injury that will require surgery in two weeks."I guess I'm a little old-school when it comes to the Pro Bowl," said Hutchinson. "I think if you can play, you should play."
joer
thats alright, most of the guys in it dropped out already, read a article on nfl HSOforum and it said probowl turning into a over glamorized game, lots of guys want nothing to do with it, just what i read anyways
zepman
Should have known something would happen...after all, the games is in Miami which is where he lives and he has been in trouble there often.Embarrassing.
lawdog
They should just close down the probowl. Its a joke. Nobody watches, nobody goes, half the players skip it altogether.
rcatcherman
The way him and hutch played against new orleans last weekend I think he thought that game was the PRO BOWL!!!
Scott M
I read the headline this morning and thought it was a joke by a Vikings fan. What a doofus. Way to represent.
