buckhunter21
Any spear is better than no spear at all. You could kill fish with a sharp stick if you had to, if a cheap spear is all you can afford than its better than not going at all! It might not throw as nice as a $100 spear but it will kill a fish. bassNspear
if i were you, buy a good one right away, and you ever have to worry about it. Unless you cant afford it, spend the money!
HandySpence
You can buy a new one from fleet for around 50, but you will definitely be better off buying a nice one made by a pro, they are much more balanced and don't arc as much, which believe me is VERY frustrating when that happens. Gordie
I know there are big differnces in spears but really the spear is only as good as the guy throwing it. the spear I am useing right now is a hand forged spear made in the 40's and I think it's one of the sweetest spears I've ever thrown. I also have one my dad made in the 50's that is almost as nice. It does make a big differnce thou in a well balanced spear.I've also seen some pretty crappy looking spears and the guys useing them do just fine with them
