Flasher Interference

I had some guys that set up 20 feet away from me today and their flasher was interfering with my LX-5. I know Vexilar and Marcum don't agree with each other, but do they all mess each other up? What about two of the same model?

If your on a hard rock bottom this can be an issue, personaly I have never had problems with any causing problems with my LX-5 I couldn't clean up with the IR. I fish next to a LX-5,FL-20 and FL-8 during a season we have no problems.

I have fished next to both guys with Vexliars and Marcums, never had a problem. Usally my LX5 will drown out the vex. try turning up the IR.

Tried the IR with no results. Not sure what those other guys were using but as soon as they gave up, it was perfectly clear.

possibly could be that they had their gain set really high

What about Humminbird flashers?

humminbird flashers are nice. Never had interference, colors are easier on your eyes, zoom feature is nice. only question is will it last as long as my 20

Sorry I should have clarified, will a Hbird interfere with a Marcum?

HB runs on a different freqency than Vex and Marcum, the use the same.

We were on LOW in a Wig Wam Perm and had 6 guys with Vex's, Marcums and Birds and were able to clean up the mess with IR. The Vex did seem to be the one that had the most issues cleaning up the mess though.

Once we went down to 3 guys in the house it was no issue at all. We were probably 5'-10' away from eachother at all times. It was however a soft sandy bottom.

If you use the narrow beam ducer and turn the gain down just enough to see your lure it will really help.

We have both a vex. and my son has a marcum I must say my sons marcum cleans up much better with ir on then my vex. Both are lower cost units I like his marcum better.

It's a dual beam, there's a button(NBT)to switch back and forth. The "IR" button is your interference rejection button, just keep pressing the button till the interference go's away.

If NBT is lit, does that mean it is wide or narrow?

That means narrow. I think NBT stands for Narrow Band Transducer. This may make your deadstick disappear if your second hole is a little too far away though.

narrow, it turns on in wide. when you hit the NBT button it switches to narrow.

the LX_5s come with dual beam transducers 8 degree and 20, i

just ordered one today, did alot of research and chose the marcum unit.hard to find this time of year though.
