snowman678
Look up Rick Lax, he does the best job I've seen on pike/muskies. I believe his site has pricing. The next best is Joe Fittante (he does the absolute best s/m bass that I've seen) and also does a great job on pike/muskies.
Shawn Kellett
Lax does a great job. I think he's somewhere in the $12" range. He's worth the money.
Muskiefool
Fittante is also a incredible artist, BTW congrats on the big girl release.
Brad B
doop, most places get anywhere from 12 to 20 dollars per inch to do replicas. this price is for everthing. a 40" + replica is around $225.00 to $250.00 unpainted. The painting is what cost the money. the guys that can do a true life like paint job will charge more. the best thing would be to shop around with different taxidermists and ask to see pictres of there work. as a cost comparison my brother in law had a 40" skin mount done and that was around $425.00 to have it done. the guy I use charges $15.00 per inch on replicas but he doesn't do it full time anymore and will only do work for his previous customers on the side. He got into full time truck driving since he didn't have enough taxidermy work to financial support his family.
jefflake
I had a 41.75 inch replica northern done last year by Artistic Anglers in Duluth. 21 lbs. 6 oz.Done and shipped to me cost $618. I'm sure the shippping was expensive and I can't remember the breakdown. I think it was like $13 an inch.... Biggest northern of my life and it was released. Caught vertical jigging for walleyes. Anyway, I think you should check out their HSOforum.
Bassinbob84
Lax and fittante both do excellent work. If you are not in a huge hurry wait until the musky show in April and you can talk to both. They both have a lot of fish there to see as well.
DHanson
That's what I would do too, Bob. I talked to both at least years show about the 46" pike I got the year before. I have not gotten a replica, but still considering. They offer discounts during the show too, but the only problem for the original poster is he is from Texas. Lucius
Doop, I caught my 46" tiger muskie in 6/22/2008. I had LAX construct the replica mount for me. AT the time he charged $12.50 per in. I had the wood plaque and shipping came out to be $730 (shipping from Wisconsin to Washington State). I was very impressed with the coloring of the mount. I have seen quit a few mounts that the coloring of a tiger muskie was just off. Like a few other Fittante has good mounts as well. I say check with both and go with your gut on what you think is best. Here is a picture of my mount from LAX

superbee
I will second Artistic Anglers. I had a 52.5" muskie replica done and it was around $13 per inch. I am very pleased with the work and turn around time was excellent. Matt will take good care of your needs. Just google it, located just North of Duluth. Walleye Guy
You should go to the Sportsman Show or the Sportshow and check them all out in person. Some of the replica's look like they have been dipped in shellac and are way too shiny in my opinion. Others don't paint as well. Don't order one until you have looked at 3 or more replica companies. There are also deals to be had at the sportshows. I also missed that the poster was from Texas. I still wouldn't recommend buying without seeing their work first hand.
