Maybe dytro will buy it from you? After all he thinks it should look like that after a few times. As for mine, it is 12 years old and still looks like new. I would say they had a run of bad fabric. Even the seam holes looked stretched and faded. I would bring it up to the store manager or tell them there competitors don't sell this bad product. At least give them a chance to settle this fairly. Just have it set up at the store before you leave and tell them how inconvenieced you have been already..

I have e-mailed and sent the pictures to Clam. We will see what they say, I've asked them if it is better to go through them or just try to deal with Gander. I will probably run to Gander at some point, just seems faster than dealing with Clam. But, also no guarantee I won't get a bad one again. I would try the Eskimo at this point, but they seem to be out everywhere.

Ohh and as for possibly getting the floor model, seems impossible as it is hanging from the rafters. Annoying thing was that upon my first return I actually took the time to sort through the boxes to find the one that looked the least worn and still had all the staples in the box...bad pick

My Clam Voyager is much like the picture that you took right out of the box. I just assumed that it passed their quality control measures, and I should not worry about it...but it definitely does not look like the previous Voyager that I had, even after several years of use. I guess I will roll the dice and hope that it doesn't become an issue further down the road, when I don't have any recourse to return it anymore....cross my fingers. I'll snap some pics and post them for comparison if I get a chance.

I bought a clam 6x6 this year, and mine doesn't look like that either. I think you just got a bad one. If you like the clam otherwise and can get a good one I wouldn't rush out to get a quickfish. There are pros and cons with both models. I had a quickfish 3, but I decided to sell it and get the clam. I liked having 2 doors, and I think the design of the hub on the clam is much better.

I bought the 6x8 summit this year and have used it about 6 times and looks the same as yours if not worse. I am interested in what clam has to say! I thought it was nothing big at first but has been getting worse as I use it. If I had to do it all over again I think I would've got the eskimo! Overall not really happy with the quality, I thought clam would've used a better material.. kept my receipt as always and might have to drive to the "R" store in walker...

What causes this, my frabil trekker looks a lot like this after one season it is like there are sky lites poping up every where!

I think it's caused by the condensation in it while you are using it and heating it. Then you tear it down and go home, sits in the gargage or truck or whatever, the condensation freezes (canvas stuck to canvas), then when you get back out to the lake, you set it up and it probably makes the sound as if you are tearing it apart due to canvas being frozen to another area of the canvas and over time you'll notice more and more "sky lites".

I take a towel with and try and remember to dry off the interior as much as I can before taking it down.

Well I sent 2 e-mails to Clam customer service, have not heard anything back. I took back to Gander and returned, they seemed hesitant to give money back rather than exchange, but they also did not have another unit in stock to exchange, so got my money back and happened to find what is apparently the last Eskimo Quickfish 6 within 50 miles and went and bought it. Set it up in the house, the fabric looks much better, don't know that it is any better quality (actually seems a little thinner) but at least no signs of wear or defect. The stitching does seem to be better on the Eskimo and how the poles are stitched into the fabric seems more sturdy. Zipper also seems to be an upgrade. Trying it out tonight, seems like a good unit. If the clam wouldn't have had the thinning fabric I'm sure it would have been good, just didn't want to run in to problems down the road or lose life of the unit because it was bad to start. Thanks for your input on the topic.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
