Lazer Mag not grabbing?

Hey guys, I picked up a Lazer Mag last year and it has had a problem grabbing the ice. I have to put pressure on the head to get the blades to bite. When they do grab, they drill a few inches and then slip again? Any idea what is causing this? I figure the pitch is out of tune but not certain. Any idea where I can get this checked out?

I had a chance to get my hands on one of the new Lazer Pro's with the Solo engine and my gosh does that thing scream through the ice. It made me realize something just wasn't right with the amount of pressure I apply to make it grab.

You shouldnt have to apply much, if any at all. The more pressure you push down, the more your pitch will be off. I have gone several years on 1 set of blades, it more depends on how clean of ice you are cutting through, and how well you take care of the blades, dont bang them.

On my jiffy a few years ago I just barely dinged a tooth of blade on a bolt, and holy cow did it not want to cut after that. I filed it down, just a tad bit, and it was like night and day - cautting like thru butter again. Check for any dings, no matter how small.

Box, count your blessings. A Strikemaster with a dinged blade will not cut-period! Jim Buck, I'd bet anything it's the blades. I bought a chipper drill for mine this year, works great. You're right about SM though, nice folks and great service. Razer blades DO NOT reopen holes. For a person like me in a permanant house the chipper was the only way to go.
