cjac
Hey now....settle down dtro!!! Truth of the matter is I had the "get it back in the water quick" muskie mentality and never threw the stick on it.....forgot that a sturgeon is a bit more heartier than a muskie. That said, it was flirting with the 60" mark and I didn't really care, it was flat-out BIG! Above that, it was a really cool fish and an amazing experience to tangle with a dinosaur! bronzeback
It's cool to go through and check out the weather in the background of everyone's pictures. It seems like the only picture that doesn't belong is Muskiefool's. Bright blue day with wispy clouds and he sticks a monster. Gotta love that. DeBo101
Broke my personal best for length 4 times this year. First one was on the second spot of the season in June. Just went up from there. First is one that was just shy of 50 from early july that I think is my heaviest to date. Ate a bulldawg just out of site from the boat. Great musky weather that 2 fish day. Second is a 51 caught on the third lap of the 8 after what was until that time a slow morning. Quite a show in the clear water and 50InchPig was nice enough to net it for me. nater
Way to get in on the action Debo. Great to see the pics when its this nippy outside. 50inchpig - We'll see how I can improve on that for next year. You'll have to come up and fish it next year, its more forgiving when the competitor is out. Debo - I wasn't with you on any of the big fish pictures but that is still crazy how the fish would come alive for YOU when I would throw the low rider...hmmm
muskydeceiver
I set my PB 3 times this summer. First time was actually my first night fish (which is why I look so dumb in the pic) and my first real figure 8 fish as well. This was fish number 3 of 5 for the boat that night. Second time I was testing out a new Jake. I was twitching it in and she smoked it. First fish I really had headshakes on and it is something I will never forget. She stretched out on the bumpboard to 49.75". Here she is chillin after the release. She actually followed the boat around for awhile before taking off. 3rd time I set it we were sucka fishing. This was the best fight I have ever had with a fish. I finally got her to the boat and tried to get her head up to get her in the net and the rig flew out of the water at me. I was devestated, but she layed there for a second and my fishing partner scooped her up. I went nuts. This one also went 49.75" on the nose, but carried a lot more weight than the first one. Some people might be [PoorWordUsage] if they caught two fish that were a quarter inch short of the "magic mark", but I wouldn't trade either of these fish. Both were real clean and had great fight in them. It also means I still get to chase my first fiddy!!!!! Edit: Go ahead and let the [PoorWordUsage] fly on my stupid had. We were having terrible luck until I broke that baby out and then the fish started jumping in the boat HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA
DeBo101
Lots of NICE looking fish in this thread. Lots of different color phases and the big clean ones all look good.Deciever - nothing wrong with the 49.75"ers. I managed to catch 2 in about 15 minutes one evening this summer. When I got the second one I thought to myself what are the chances of that. Put her back in the pond and was all smiles the rest of the week.Nater - I think I'm gonna have to borrow your LOWRider when I go to canada with my dad next year. I think I'll make him throw it whenever I feel a "Red October" is around. You were definately along for some wild action and the two 47's you netted for me would have been personal bests in '07. scsavre
Some great pics here. Glad the post got going again. Gives me something to do. Gotta love how alot of big fish are accompanied by us wearing winter hats. Sticking it out through that cold weather definitely pays off. I hope it came on a topwater, with a day like that I'd be throwing topwaters all day, whether or not it's the best thing to be tossin
