Marcum Question - Simple Question for you Marcum Experts

Just upgraded my Marcum LX-3 with the battery meter - I've got one question. Ran the flasher all Sat afternoon and Sundsay morning - call it 6 hours. The battery meter was still showing 100%. Then when I got home and plugged it in - the display blinked to show it was charging and it showed 60%, then 70% etc. Did not take that long to fully recharge, maybe 30 minutes but was not timing it. Just wondering if it was closer to 100% which was displayed without being hooked up to the charger or 60% which is what it showed when I first hooked it up to the charger. I guess I expected it to show my charge while out on the ice so if this is not the case I would like to know. Not complaining, just want to be clear on how the thing works. Thanks for the help. Paul

Maybe it stuck at 100% then started to work. I had mine out 8 hours yesterday in a cold clam scout and it went down to 10%. After driving home with the flasher in the van, it went up to 20%.

Took several hours to get back to 100. that's about what I would expect.

I am sure if you had used it a little more it would have started to drop. There are a few factors that can change the way that meter reads. If you watch it when the battery is really cold and when it warms up it will change up to 20%. It is great to be able to charge but not over charge your battery which in turn will prolong the life of your battery. As long as its 100% when you start and fish show up on the flasher- that's what counts the most grin

I bought one last spring and charged the battery then.I then charged it yesturday and it showed 100% charge before hooking up the charger. After hooking up the charger it dropped to 70%.Left it on the charger last night and it was at 100% this am.I have not even used the unit yet.

I unhook my terminals after each "outing". that way there is zero drain on the battery until I use it. Mine seems to run all day, but usually drops to around 60% in the first 2 or 3 hours. I've had it run for a long time on 10 to 20% and not gone dead. I'd like to know the % value to the voltage reading so I could compare with a voltmeter just to know if the meter is accurate.

Does anyone know?
