Who needs owls?

I've got pelicans. There was just 1 there today. His mate maybe bit the dust. I don't think this one is real healthy. In the last shot, I came across him walking in a ditch, which is very unusual. When I stopped to get one more pic, he took off running, not flying. It doesn't look good.

The wind was definitely blowing on the back of his head. We were having gusts of over 30 mph this afternoon. It was not a nice day.

Neat shots of the Pelican but the Eagle shot is my fav.

Nice Mike! Can the pelican fly? If not, maybe you you think about putting it down or have one of your local NRO's do it. (I don't think you could legally dispatch the bird).

If the bird can't fly it will only die a miserably slow and painful death due to starvation...

Thanks, all. Sue, My best eagle shot for the season is in the Bird Watching forum. Alas, after this weather, they're probably all heading south. I know I would if I could.
