mr_jman
I always regret it if i dont have sunflower seeds along. Granola bars and pop tarts seem to find there way into my coat pockets. McDonalds is right up the street from one of my favorite lakes so sometimes a few Mc Doubles for $1 or nuggets hit the spot too. Otherwise a bag of Doritos with my Mt Dew is pretty good as well!Another hot dog idea is to boil them in the morning and put a few in a thermos. They should stay hot for a few hours and there is no wait to eat em!
Phred52
Geeze mr_jman! That takes me back!! Sunflower seeds and Micky D's!! Now days it's Norvasc for BP and the Lipitor I take for cholestrol. I did learn though that "you can't treat high blood pressure with beer". And the Dr doesn't think that's at ALL funny. Yep, No matter how much you drink, the BP just doesn't drop!! Watch it guys!! Funny now, BIG P.I.T.A. later! Phred52
Glockwinger
Heggies Pizza and a six pack of Mich Golden!! DoubleLunger, I have done that at least a dozen times on Mille Lacs! Love Heggies! In the porty I usually am not out long enough that I need a meal since I go locally for 4 hours or so. Usually bring some beef jerky or sometimes a sandwich. In my wheelhouse, I can cook anything...we have had steaks, brats, chili, spagetti(that one is messy) and even leftovers from home reheated on the stove or in the microwave. shnelson
shnelson, You might want to be a little more specific. In my dropdown house, I'm capable of making anything I can make at home(oven or stove). In my porty, I pretty much thrive out of the widemouth thermos, sausage sandwiches and bagged chips. In the widemouth, I've had pot pies, soups, stews etc. @~240# I can guarantee (sadly), I don't miss many meals , But it all goes to (as Popeye would say) muskle! I can't say I agree with that 100%, some of it goes to 'good looks' Phred52 Can I hang out with you this winter? That's better cooking than what I do at home . I have rediscovered my love for pistachios recently, will have to add them to this years line up. I try to run pretty light with my portable, I don't think i'd ever attempt a pizza unless I've had enough bottle bass and the bite was off. I want to try some tinfoil creations this year, I think the gas grill will be a necessity. I usually keep a cliff bar or two stowed away for when i get a craving, especially delicious when you warm them up a bit so you're not chewing into an ice block of chocolate and nuts! crappiekid
Chilli,Brats, burgers. Google Camping meals and look for plenty of great ideas. Many things can be wrapped in alum foil and grilled.Hobo is my favorite. Omlets boiled in a ziplock bag are good. (premix at home) Sloppy JOE now im getting hungry! Pocket food = bars, seeds, snacks good for portables ... oh and mick goldens!

sparkydm
Twizzlers and diet Mountain Dew if a short trip with the porty. If I'm out a little longer and I have A generator and microwave with I'll have some Easy Mac.
walleyeslayr
Keep a little skillet in the sled and make fried egg sandwiches. I just hold the skillet over the sunflower.

wplatehunter
I don't eat much in the house, but the more snacks you bring for the kids the longer you get to stay out.
