EARLY ICE SNACKS..

Recommended Posts

Early ice means pulling my Otter and gear out to my spots. Some times its a long long walk so I sure dont need a bunch of extra weight. For food its some water/pop and a few granola bars. Usually only out 4 hours in the am and pm then.

Once I get enough ice to snowmobile then Ill carry more gear and food and bring the power auger. Eat good before you go and you dont need much food. Early ice is fish catching time so I usually dont have much time to eat out there.

Some deer sausage with sharp cheddar on crackers, made ahead of time...too busy yankin' them fins out. Break at noon to whip the Coleman one burner on a 1 lb propane cyl & throw a pan of (YUK!) Dinty Moore on for my buddy, while I empty my thermos of good ol' chicken noodle soup. Couple leftover Halloween candy bars. Set for the afternoon.
