Hypothetically speaking, if Favre has his best season and wins the SB this year, comes back next for the same, would he then retire a Viking, or a Packer?

In all seriousness, if things with the Packers don't get fixed, he might very well retire a Viking. Ted Thompson has alot of patching to do with Brett, and I don't think Brett wants anything to do with the organization anymore, but if they make things right with him, it can be fixed

I don't think players are allowed to pick the team they get inducted into the hall of fame with anymore...that might only be in baseball though, I'm not 100% sure.

what is a packer anyway? is there a definition why they are the green bay packers? or is it the obvious?

They were named Packers, because way back in the early 1900's the team started off as a bunch of meat packers from Green Bay, they just played other area teams, then when the NFL started, they were one of the teams that joined the NFL, and they kept their original name of "Packer".
