Check out the new Carbon Matrix bow from Hoyt, this thing looks awesome....I might need to sell mine this off season and take a serious look at this new one....

Sure would love to shoot some arrows through it.

Google Hoyt Carbon Matrix and check it out.

Yeah I haven't held one yet, looks are just that, how it shoots is the real question....

I have seen the Z7 from Mathews, wouldn't mind shooting that one either, but last time I put them head to head, I personally liked the Hoyt better...but that's not the intent of this, I just liked the way this bow looks and am anxious to see how it handles....

I shot the Maxxis and the Alphaburner recently. They are both very nice, smooth shooting bows that felt "fast". Especially the Alphaburner, it really wanted to zip. For a speed bow, I don't think I have shot anything smoother or as easy to shoot. The Maxxis was similar to, and amazingly a slight upgrade over, the Alphamax which is also a great bow.

I am seriously considering a new bow after testing the new Hoyts, and I have never owned a Hoyt before.

I shot the Maxxis and the Carbon Matrix today. Besides 1/4 lb difference, I didn't notice much difference. The sticker shock on the CM was something though! I don't see how Hoyt thinks it will sell enough of them. IMO it's not an upgrade from the Maxxis and that's already a $900 bow! The prices of bows has gotten ridiculous...

Yeah, I wouldn't have a problem spending that kind of money on a rifle that would still be worth that much or more as the years go by, but that bow will only be worth half that in two years and half THAT in two more.

At least with a Mathews you're getting something worthwile in the first place grin (Sorry guys, couldn't help a little good natured ribbing...)

DB, yeah... you're getting something alright... sick

I actually shot the new Mathews the other day- it felt pretty good. I was surprised because most Mathews feel terrible to me. I'm not sure why, but they just don't work for me. This one was a 30 inch ATA, so I'd never be interested in it, but it seemed like a shooter. That's saying a lot coming from a guy who has yet to shoot a Mathews he likes.

FYI- I'm not badmouthing Mathews here- they just don't work for me. They might be great for you though...

My dad had 2 of his 3 Carbon Matrix's come in yesterday. They are only going to be available on a limited basis. My dad has the best selling Hoyt dealership in Northern MN and he's only getting 3 of them. Of course he got all 3 in right hand so I won't be able to shoot one. cry

The Hoyt rep was telling my dad he shot it at the factory. Then the reps' were brought outside and the same bow was laid on the black top parking lot and ran over by a 3/4 ton truck. The rep's then shot the bow again, no damage what so ever. It was paper tuned before the truck incident and shot exactly the same afterwards.

I think Hoyt puts alot more engineering into their bows than most others. Supposedly they've been working on the new Carbon Matrix for 10+ years.

One more thing to consider is you can dry fire a Hoyt and more than likely you won't have any troubles. Try that with a Matthews or other bow and see what happens......just don't do it close to hunting season because you will be out of commission for a while.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND DRY FIRING ANY BOW......FYI!!! grin

I love my Hoyt X-Tec and will stick with that for a while, unless a left handed Carbon Matrix shows up in my dad's shop. LOL
