Why did clam get rid of the X2?

Here is the reason why Clam discontinued the X2. Sales have nose-dived over the past couple of seasons. It was just too expensive to build, and the retail was expensive at $699. It is still a great shelter, but there just isn't a big enough market anymore.

So, Clam took parts of the Voyager, X2, and Thermal X and combined them into one "hybrid" and came up with the Voyager TCX. It has the Voyager tub, the X2 poles, and the Thermal Cap is derived from the Thermal X. Oh, and the retail came DOWN $100 to $599.

This is an awesome fish house. Check them out!

They missed the boat with the Voyager sled. Should have stuck to a heavier design. I coulda sold 5 X2's already and have only sold 1 Voyager. The X2 was our best seller last yr....Oh and dont get me started on the complaints about the non adjustable seats!!!! THe Thermal X is basically an X2,but most around here dont care for the thermal.

i like the feel of the seats in the new clams, but i like how the seats go back and forth and side to side in my yukon. I like the poles in the X2 and new clams compared to my yukon. I hate how the tray sits in the new clams compared to my yukon. As far as getting rid of the trap link i really could care less, i never used it yet.

may just have to pick up a new clam and since im a machinist make a copy of the yukon seats for the new clam

I was just at Scheels in St Cloud and they have a X2 and maybe more for 549.99. I didn't ask if the floor model is the only one left because I already have one and love it. I don't use mine for early ice because it is heavy, but I did quite a few mods on it to make it heavier. It is still easier to pull with the mods than my Eskimo.
