flasher interference

I fish Brainerd extravaganza, some other tournaments also. Took my fl 8 2 yrs ago and it was worthless, too much interference. Used a Showdown last year, it was ok. How about the higher end flashers at those events, I may upgrade. I like Vex but would consider others. Probably cant go top of the line, how about the midrange ones?

Try a Humminbird and I'll bet you will be very happy with little to no intereference.

Try an Ice 35, thats the least spendy of the Birds.

The Humminbird Ice 35 and other HB flashers work off a different frequency than Marcum and Vex units, so that is your best bet to get rid of interference.

Also the newer technology in HB flashers, Marcum flashers, and the FL-20 is likely to do a better job at handling cross-talk than the FL-8.

One tip you can try that might help, is to keep your transducer higher up in your ice hole --- that might help keep some of the other flashers' pulses off if it.

i fish that hole in a day ice tourny up there all the time with my FL-20 and FL-12 and never had a problem, maybe a little here and there but what can u expect with 10,000 ppl in one spot

i fished that contest two years ago with my m68 icemachine and couldn't get it to work with all the interference so last year i upgraded my 520c to an ice package and still had no luck there

If your only problem with interference is during the Brainerd thing I wouldn't worry about it. That flasher isn't gonna help you win that tourney anyway.

If it's causing problems in the shack with you and couple buddies then you need to worry about it.

I have been up there the last 3 years I think with my MarCum LX-5 and have been able to fish just fine wit it.

Yep...I've been there 2 years with my LX5 and haven't had a flicker of interference.
