Double D
I referenced this in another thread, but we may be back to two Nascar manufacturers.Fiat to make Chrysler into . . . FiatThe Italian carmaker expects to reintroduce Alfa Romeo to the US market and add many models that work in Europe. Many old US models will be phased out.Posted by Charley Blaine on Monday, October 26, 2009 7:25 PMFour months after exiting a U.S.-funded bankruptcy reorganization, Chrysler Group is about to unveil a product roadmap that relies heavily on vehicles from Italian partner Fiat (FIATY) while abandoning many of the U.S. carmaker's own models. The plan, due to be unveiled Nov. 4, involves the reintroduction of Fiat's premium, sporty Alfa Romeo brand to the U.S. starting in 2012, The Wall Street Journal reported this afternoon. Chrysler also will introduce the 500, Fiat's tiny car that is popular in Europe, to Americans. It won't, however, attach the Fiat name to it. Chrysler meantime is preparing to phase out many of its current models, particularly Dodge cars, the Journal said. Fiat and Chrysler are working to create several new vehicles with Fiat technology for the U.S. market, including a midsize Chrysler-brand sedan to be released in 2012. The sweeping changes, due to play out over the next two to three years, represent a big gamble for Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne, who has staked his reputation on the turnaround. This is the current state of American automobiles.DD
CJH
Several analysts are predicting that even with the bailout and the fiat deal, Dodge isn't going to make it past next year. (and I am not talking about NASCAR)We may be down to the Big Two, period.
LMITOUT
Didn't Petty change over to Fords now too? I thought I heard something about them merging with Yates and they will run Fords in 2010.

fishinchicks
Rousch was pretty strong a few years ago when Martin was in their camp, and they run Fords. Right now I would say it is more of a Hendrick thing. They have these cars dialed in pretty well.

They also have great funding right along with the drivers.I don't know if all the teams work so well together but all but Jr's team is rocking.
