...i really wanna ice fish, like NOW!

i am excited about sitting in my tree stand in a couple of weeks, but i'd rather be drilling holes through the ice instead.

i just off the lake about an hour ago. i brought my ice rod with, and tied on a small jig and tipped it with a minnow. i didn't catch anything, but it was too much fun!

I feel ya buddy! I'm getting so sick of this sleet/snow/rain weather! It just needs to get cold and stay cold so we can get some ICE!!!

All i do everyday in class is sit there and think about cleaning out my sled and what I need to get!!! i come up with the same list everytime ... money well spent on my education huh

Bowhunting has stunk as well. So much corn in the fields the deer arent heading for the timbers. That makes me want to icefish even more.

I have a cozy, box, deer stand only 200 yards from my house and instead of bow hunting I have been running around looking for stuff and working on my fish house and spending a lot of time right here on the forum. I have only been out in the stand 2 times and I spent 1/2 the summer building it.

Oh yeah. Got the early and mid ice gear ready already, working on the perm right now getting her ready. Friday night sat in my buddys perm and had some brews, yesterday overhauled my 25 year old Empire heater. Soon, I can focus on tackle organization, since, at this rate, first ice will be before thanksgiving, have you seen the 15 day forcast into November? :-)

Looks of open water fishing yet. Bring on the ice after Thanksgiving or the first of December. There are roosters to chase yet and deer to shoot.

Im from the south metro, but im going to school in iowa. I have ice fever like no other but its driving me nuts that there are no lakes to fish on down here. The only times im going to be able to ice fish this year is over xmas break. Hopefully I will be able to swing a deal with my uncle to stay at his cabin up on mille lacs for a week.

Hey guys it is called vertical jigging for a reason ! The last couple of years I have been in my boat on the 2 weekends of the gun season, and have done well. Then it is time to bowhunt for 2 weekends or if it gets cold enough then I go ice fishing.
