Heard Selig on ESPN radio this am talking about more teams in the playoffs but then they would have to shorten the reg season and that means less rev to each team and no teams agree to do that so it sounds like every available chance for rest is already used up and there is no chance for a break between games/series.....shoulda kept the roof/dome.

Hey, wasn't MN one of those teams being mentioned a few yrs back in discussions around reducing the number of MLB teams?

Lucky that didn't happen.

The Yankees had the choice of either playing the first game on Wed, or on Thursday, they chose Wed because we wouldnt get the rest we need, and they would be able to use 3 pitchers due to the extra day off.

Why wouldn't Major League baseball determine when the series would start? I could see if the stadium was used for something else but Yankee Stadium is baseball only. I suppose MLB didn't want to tick off the Yankees.

Mr Selig was a part of a hush/hush under the table personal loan from Carl Pohlad. Had the Twins contracted under his power the fit would hit the shan (thanks Toby Keith for that one)
