Washing Camo in H.E. Washer

Got a high efficiency washer 4-5 months ago and now I need to wash some of my camo. I don't want to use the H.E. wash detergent since it has UV brighteners. The salesguy was pretty strict when he was talking about what detergent to use...anybody have any experience with this? I always used my old washer with some baking soda and things usually worked pretty well.

I have a HE washer at home but I found a HE Scent ELimination forumula. Seems to be working just fine.

I agree with codeman. I found that my scent killer wash says safe for HE washers. Its what I use in my front loading HE washer.

Scent Killer makes it, just bought some, same price as the other stuff, clear bottle with green detergent

If you are just going to use baking soda you should be fine. The problem is regular detergent will create to much suds in a HE washer.

Too late, I bought some of the dead down wind stuff. Based on the price and product claims on the label, I should probably drink it because its like some combination aphrodisiac/cancer cure/good luck potion.

LOL oh yeah dachise....well I have scent killer and its endorsed by a very angry looking Brock Lesnar. I'm worried its going to scare the deer away with intimidation.

I've been meaning to branch out. Let me know if you like the DDW stuff.

Wash it by hand and hang it outside to dry. I like to also lay my clothes in the leaves in the area that I'm going to hunt. I lay my clothes outside in the leaves by the house or place them in a bag with the leaves.

i use the dead down wind detergent, just not the HE kind, cause i don't have a HE washer. the last 3 years i have used it, along with storing my camo in a cheap locking tote with earth scented wafers in the fall, and snow scented wafers in the winter , and spray down with autumn formula scent away before leaving the vehicle, and once halfway to the stand, and have never been busted by a deer coming from any direction, whether downwind or not. before using this combo, about once every tenth sit a deer's nose would go up in the air along with their tail, and back into the woods they would go!
