A bee and his buddy!

Thanks to Ken's neat bee shots, I took the idea and gave it a shot myself. That's one thing I like about this forum. I never fail to get new shooting ideas.

I got out a bit too early and had to wait around for 3/4 hour before a couple came out to play. Bees must prefer the sun. This is my fave due to the extra bug in the shot.

I don't know an ID on the little green guy, but I do know they bite! They are all over right now.

I do not own a macro lens. This was actually shot with my 18-55 IS lens in Av mode. I was quite happy with the results.

Also, I have no idea on the ID of the little green guy.

Those nasty little green bugs are corn rootworm beetles. They are super thick in our yard right now. Of course, we have a large cornfield on one side.
