Salmo Hornet

My local bait store put their Salmo cranks on sale for a couple bucks off, so I snapped up some #5F Hornets.

Any reviews of these cranks or favorite colors appreciated.

Love them. Especially this time of year for trolling.

#4's and #5's Shallow and deep. Bullhead and fire tiger are 2 of my favorite colors.

Crud! I just realized I have the 6th Edition of Precision Trolling, which doesn't have Salmo in it yet! : - (

Time to update equipment I guess.....

That book is kinda like a computer... It gets obsolete pretty fast.

Would some kind Troller please post the dive curve for #4 and #5 Hornets? I'm looking to get 7-9 feet down. I'm Heading back to the store for some # 4s

I'm a big fan of hornets as well. I don't know the names of the colors but I use a firetiger and perch pattern frequently, as well as a chrome orange/gold color and a chrome silver/black color with red bill and bleeding gills. And at times I've done well on a craw color.

I have had very good luck this year on a few lakes with the crawdad pattern. Spendy lures but they get the job done.

Best small profile trolling crank bait out there in my humble opinion. Top 5 colors in no particular order are:

Hot Perch

Red Tail Shiner

Gold Metallic Orange

Metallic Clown

Pearl Orange

Crawdad, Real Crappie, Viking, Dalmatian and a host of others have their time and place too. Enjoy your purchase!

I would have to add the color ghost.Its a solid pearl white.

Ghost is also a good lure. Salmo makes some fine cranks and their warranty is also very good.

I broke the bill on three different ones and they were all sent in and new ones were back within 1 week with 1 extra one. Cannot beat that.

You will quickly fall in love with these. Hot perch and firetiger in #6 are my go to colors.
