riverkid21
How many of you guys have caught a fish on your first cast???? I'm sure many people have moved fish on their first cast, but has anyone caught one? Both Bronzeback and I have essentially had the chance this season, but neither of us were really 110% ready it seems. First few casts are always mixed with trying to position the boat and getting everything in the boat organized. Needless to say I am a little more prepared from the start now. propster
First cast of muskie fishing ever? No. First cast of the year? No. First cast of the trip? Yes. First cast of the day? Yes. First cast after the last cast? Yes
polarsusd81
If you get to know your waters well enough a first cast ski is doable. One of my buddies who guides in the metro regularly puts them in the boat on the first cast, and has done it in multiple spots in one night. mrklean
First cast is always a birds nest
BrianLucky13
I always say if you go some where on a trip and you catch a muskie on the first cast your gonna have a good trip!! I've done that on Vermilion a couple of times in the same spot with the same lure.
setterguy
I had back to back outings where I put fish in the boat on first casts....one was at 8:30 at night, the next morning at 7am, the next time I went out I had something blow up on my first cast and I'm thinking "No f'n way" Turned out to be an over zealous bass hitting a creeper. JRedig
I've had blowups on topwaters, but not a fish in the boat....yet.
Zelmsdawg
Forget first cast...the day can go downhill from there. I like it more when calling last cast and then sticking a fish I've ended 2 seasons like that (although one was a last trolling run) but after letting the fish go put everything away and hug it up for the year. Ending on a high note is better than starting on one in my books. Zelmsawg
