jsondag
Has anyone tried Berkeley Gulp for Sturgeon? Going to Rainey tomorrow with the thought on my mind that a large part of successful catching is that your bait is fresh and not washed out - I'm thinking that although not totally natural, Gulp may hold it's stink longer thus producing a longer lasting presentation? Plus, the suckers cant nibble it off!
itchmesir
save your money and buy regular plastics.. anyone who can give a good plastics presentation more than likely can fish just as well if not better with a Mister Twister than over priced gimmicky Gulp
Moonie
I've got some Gulp and may try it out on the rainy this weekend. We also have a bunch of crawlers. It's worth a shot. The more scent you can get out for those fish the better.

Regular plastics won't smell good, but gulp might.
DinnerPail
Was in the store today looking at the Gulp and wordering the same. We're headed up in a couple of weeks. I think I'll give it a try and if it doesn't work I use it later for other species.
Ralph Wiggum
I saw a show about two years ago where they were using a crawler and GULP crawler combo and doing well.
Lotwfisher
Worked good last year when we tried them. They didn't outfish worms or minnows but they held their own and are good to have in the boat when you run out of live bait. I found that continuouly redipping the gulp in the alive juice helped also cause the fish use smell not sight for food finding. I used the crawlers, 4" minnow(looped on a hook), and the alive shrimp. One nice thing is they don't get pulled off by small sturgeon, suckers or bullheads either.
croixflats
I think the combination live and gulp would be best. The sturgeon as said go by smell and a little movement helps also. The gulp will help with those sturgeon that are masters at stripping the hook on a light bite. jsondag
Didn't use it too much this weekend - Crawlers were still the bait of choice!
Whisker Trout Slayer
We just used crawlers for the most part, but I also sprayed on some YUM crawfish scent but I can't tell you if that definitely a must use item. Some other guys in our group used it also.
Lotwfisher
We make our own spray from leftovers of what we have left from the summer. I don't know if it makes a big difference on what scent it is but it gives us something to play with and experiment with.
