In all seriousness though, I don't think it was an language issue. He read a reply at the weigh in in English to explain things and apologize. My guess is he reads English pretty well, he just doesn't speak it that well, or is able to come up with the right words translated from what he is thinking.

We've seen this happen before with US anglers. So it's probably not a misunderstanding of the actual words, but what the intent of the message is. Stay out? Stay out during a certain time? No wake, but you can fish? etc. etc.

Bottom line is he made a mistake and doesn't have a history of doing it. Lucky for him, he didn't drop in standing any, but certainly could have moved up a little and made a few more $'s.
