Superbee-

Those are just great pics!! Very jealous!

My buddy that I have been fishing with up on jackfish for years was just up about 2 weeks ago before the last storm. they got into well over 50 big crappies like that too. The crappie fishing in the Winter and Summer has just really taken off up there. And they are huge. Is Off Lake anywhere near the jackfish area? Wonderng if there is some kind of connection?

Thanks-

Hoffer

Thanks again for a great trip, Superbee! As much as I love staying at your Watson Bay Outpost, Off lake was an awesome place for a combination trip. Crappies 3 minutes away, and great trout water is still only a short ride. The cabin was perfect. We'll be back next March for sure! Oh yeah, you forgot to tell them about my secret Rock Bass hole......but I suppose that isn't the kind of information you want to get out on the web or everyone will be there.

Hoffer - Off Lake is right next door to Clearwater. Off Lake flows into Rice Lake just past the Indian portage from Clearwater, it is an unnavigable creek though. Are you going up to the Manitou again this year? Maybe I will see you up there again, met you briefly last year at Matt's place on the deck.

NoWiser - That rock bass hole is top secret! It was great having you up again and I really enjoyed fishing with you guys. I am going to try to stay a night on your January trip next year and fish with you guys a couple days. The only stipulation is, I have to be allowed into the Troutslayer championship. See you in May.

My brother bruce and I will be staying at Matts outpost starting the 10th of June for 5 nights.

I am sure we will go to the main camp to shower up or gas up - would be nice to catch up with you then.

I imagine those crappies that are in Jackfish and off lake are somehow related through some feeder streams, rivers etc...

Hopefully we can get into one of those manitou Muskie on a pink twsiter tail! However, it wont be in season yet for us!

I would suspect that, it is amazing about the crappies in the area. They were unheard of in these waters until the recent years. The population is exploding and they are some beautful size fish. If I am over on the Manitou then, I will try to catch up with you.

Superbee-

Yeah, we have been going up there for the last 20 plus years and my friend who has the place has been going up longer than that. Only until about 4 years ago did we find out about the crappies. We threw out a lighted bobber one night for walleyes and came up with a huge crappie. Now they go up there and target them. I wonder how they got there after all those years. Would be interesting to find out.

Is the crappie fishing good all winter? And are u able to catch the smallies consistently? Looking at a big ice fishing trip next winter and this looks very interesting. Oh, and does anyone drive up any wheelhouses? Thanks for any replies.
