I also have a Sirius-ready radio in my boat and a separate tuner and antenna is required (along with a subscription of course) to utilize the service. My stereo is Clarion but I looked it up on their HSOforum and it appears that the Sirius tuner just plugs into an aux port on the back of the stereo. The tuner is nothing more than a black box that get's tucked away behind the dash after wiring it up.

of all that would go bankrupt now, I would think it would be satelite radio. since we can get free radio.

I am listening to statelite radio now with my free truck sub. on line. so I am guessing they are ok for the time being. whistle

The FCC dragged their feet for a year on the XM-Sirius merger which pretty much killed the product. Right now their stock is worth a couple of dimes and that's up quite a bit then it had been. They have a ton of debt but who knows what'll happen to it in the future.

If you like the programming they offer and want to be able to listen to it anywhere you go then it may be worth it. I know people that don't listen to anything else but satellite radio because they like it so much and it offers so much more than terrestrial radio. My parents and sister have it and like it a lot. I haven't messed with it yet.

I've been with XM/Sirius for years. I put a Delphia in my outfit. The kit was around 79 bucks with all wiring and antenna and tape cassestte. The cassette goes in the radio, the cigar lighter provides the power to the channel selector and the antenna goes in the the channel selector also. Actually pretty simple. If you don't have a cassette player you just find an empty FM station Yes, I've heard about them going under but, hope they don't, I love it. You can travel across the country and never loose the program. I just got a 6 month deal for 60 bucks for two subscriptions and they threw in a docking station that you can use in the house. My new pig-up came equiped for it.

I used to have a plug and play that I could take from my truck to car to dozer to garage and really liked it. I had to replace the unit twice (the vibration in the dozer is pretty hard on them). After the second one gave out it cancelled my subcription. Now I really miss it and am thinking of getting it again! I wouldnt go with anything but a plug and play though, you can take it with you wherever you go!

I'm in the process of putting one in the boat now. Football, baseball and the country stations are what I like. Plus, like someone else said, you can drive cross country and never touch the dials on the stereo. I believe I have a version of the Sportster and that can be brought from boat to house to truck to garage, just a plug and play.

I'm letting my subscription run out. Personally I just want music which is pretty much what it was when I started. Now they want to up my fees for MLB, NHL, NBA, etc which I don't care to listen to.

My other back breaker was that my current radio is XM but my newer car is Sirus ready. I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep my older car but if I sign up for a new package for my XM, I cannot transfer it to the Sirus radio.
