I have been wanting to buy a smaller cal pistol to plink at some targets and I'm just wondering what an inexpenceive .22 would be to buy. Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't a .22 be about the cheapest pistol to buy for alot of rounds being shot? I do not reload so I will be buying all my blocks of ammo. thanks in advance for any advice.

22 pistols are fun, economical, fun, and did I mention fun to shoot? Lots of deals to be found out there. I have 2 friends with 22 pistols, one has a buck mark, the other has a smith and wesson model, I have a beretta Neos, all of them are as accurate as a 22 pistol could be. My brother in law just landed a beretta Neos used from a gander mt. for 175. Keep your eyes open, maybe head to a gun show or two but definately keep those models in mind. before I bought my Neos, I looked really hard at the ruger 22/45 model. I added a red dot sight to mine which really helped. Word of caution, purchasing one handgun will result in the purchasing of more handguns........I heard a rumor of S&W making a 10mm revolver. Not that I would be looking for one...........

Have fun, pick up a few different models and see which one feels good in your hand. I tried a walther once, I thought the grips were extremely small

Probably more Ruger Mark series autos sold than any other. I have had a Mark II stainless for years with no problems. Yes, they are a lot of fun to shoot, and cheap to shoot. And I think picks mentioned they are fun to shoot. He did mention that right?

I second the ruger MarkII, the bull barrel version, will shoot more rounds in its lifetime than a grown man could only dream of. You may also consider any of the revolver options, Like the Taurus Tracker or others

If you do get a .22 handgun start buying by the 550 round boxes and "reloading" your own 100 round bricks to help keeping track of what you are actualy shooting.
