Rick G
I got a nice boat and I use it often but I fish the local rivers more than my fair shair and some of my best fish have come while standing on or near shore.
fishinJohn
I am stuck on shore but just like boat fishing you just need a good plan. If you're sick of the weeds find a place that has current. With a bit of research you can find places with deep water reachable by shore. It might take trying a few places to get into some good action but the same is true in a boat. I hear float fishing is fun but I haven't tried that.
fishinfey8
I think my all time favorite place to fish is from shore. It's up in the BWCA and it is probably the some of the best walleye shore action in MN. I've also found a coulple other places that are on my Dad's lake that I often will beach the boat and fish from shore. I do however need the boat to get to my shorefishing spots usually. Oh yes and I can't forget shore fishing rivers up north. What is soo cool about that is if you put in your time you have a good chance of catching a sucker, catfish, smallmouth, sunnie, northern, walleye, brook and brown trout all in the same spot from shore. That has been the highlight of my past three summers.
ShoreGuy1984
I will probably do mainly shore fishing, but when I get up to my dad's I get to use his boat. I also have a friend with a boat that just moved down here, hoping to con him into letting me get out with him . But shore fishing can be a great time. I went last spring and there was a lake south of the metro that was hitting with sunnies and little bitty wallies. But, having special talents, snagged a MASSIVE snapping turtle. It was about as happy as I was to have caught it . Hoping for the same fun this spring, minus the snapper . If anyone has an open spot, even a canoe, let me know. I'll pay for gas, bait, all that good stuff. Otherwise, where are some good spots to hit up for shore fishing? I know most of the eagan/burnsville spots, what else in the south metro here? Try Bush Lake in Bloomington. Lots of timber in the water.
JakeJ_Mn
I love shore and dock fishing even though I own a couple of boats. Nothing beats sitting on the bank relaxing and pulling in fish. Love to fish suckers in the rivers during spring and cats in the summer while enjoying a polish or two over the open fire. I fish nearly everyday during the open water on Leech, Cass, Winnie, or the Mississippi below the Winnie dam. Jake

s2h
I like fishing from the shore as well. Its always fun trecking through the brush and woods to find a place nobody has been before to drop a line.
Cast A Way
Fishing from shore rocks. I never fished from a boat until I was 22 years old and bought my own. My folks never could afford one, but we always had plenty of fish to eat. Wooden Frog, Cut Foot bridge or the Mississippi is always good still today. Many rivers provide great shore fishing.
