Did you leave your house on the lake last night?

From the DNR wabsite:

Shelter Removal Dates

Dark houses, fish houses, and shelters must be off the ice no later than

midnight for each of the dates given in the following categories below.

After removal dates, shelters may remain on the ice between midnight

and one hour before sunrise only when occuppied or attended.

Not tonight, 12:01am they are to be off the lake!

Hope anybody didn't get a ticket!

They moved the date back one day for sunday for the whole weekend and give people one more day on the ice not 2 days,so they would be off the lake at 12:01 02-02-09!

Last year and years back, you didn't dare have a house on the lake after February 28th. They only added one day, so how could you say the 2nd?

Here's from the StarTribune:

By PAUL WALSH, Star Tribune

Never mind the frigid start to the week: Today is the day that Minnesota ice anglers in the southern part of the state must have their fish houses off the lakes.

That's a day later than originally printed in the 2008 Fishing Regulations handbook.

Minnesota ice anglers will have extra fishing opportunities in March because of some changes that were made late in the 2008 Legislative session but not included in the regulations handbook.

“These changes will allow anglers to enjoy some late season ice fishing,” said Capt. Ken Soring, acting Department of Natural Resources Enforcement chief.

The updated regulations are available online.

The fish house/shelter removal deadline for the southern part of the state is March 2, rather than March 1 as originally printed in the 2008 Fishing Regulations handbook. The deadline for shelter removal in the northern part of the state, March 16, remains the same. Shelters must be removed from the ice by these dates. Check specifics on page 59 of the 2008 fishing regulations.

The other important change is that fish houses/shelters statewide can be on the ice between midnight and one hour before sunrise when occupied or attended after the March 2 and the March 16 deadlines.

This exception had previously applied only to fish houses/shelters north of the east-west line formed by U.S. Hwy 10, east along Hwy 34 to Minnesota Hwy 200, east along Hwy 200 to U.S. Hwy 2, and east along Hwy 2 to the Minnesota-Wisconsin border.

The walleye and northern pike seasons on inland waters closed Feb. 22.

Yea they confused me but I figured monday night didnt make sense, they say midnight 3/2/09 is the date and time, but most people dont realize that at midnight on SUNDAY night, it actually is then 3/2/09. Houses were supposed to be off last night they way I understand it, and this confused many, many people.

either way if you didn't get ticketed and your house was left on the lake last night just make sure you get it off the lake tonight before midnight unless you are staying in it then it does not matter

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
