Piggy Perchin Pics

Recommended Posts

Back home from the Piggy Perchin Party and I had a blast!!! We had a fantastic cabin, good food, met some nice new people. I do wish I had taken more pictures, but will post what I have. I really wish more people could have attended, especially more of the female forum members.

NICE CABIN!! It's just gorgeous!!

So you gals had some fun did ya? grin Did you catch alot? Thanks for putting up pic Barb-your cell phone is pretty nice isn't it? Did you mix up some punch? How many women did attend?

The cabin was definitely first class, even had towels, dish soap, shampoo, hair dryer, over in the corner by the TV there was a unit that Char was able to plug her IPod into and play music. The only other woman we saw other than our group was Dietz's wife. The fishing wasn't that great, but Sunday Hope and I sat in my little Menards Ice Bandit shack (POS) and watched the perch swimming all around which was kinda fun. Couldn't get them to bite though. Yes I did have some Mille Lacs wedding punch which I introduced Tami to. I think she kinda like it too..........Sunday we hit the casino for the buffet before we headed home, either I overate or I ate something that didn't agree with me. By the time I got home my gut hurt so bad I could hardly stand it. Continued all through last night, and I feel pretty wiped out this morning. Gonna take a nap and maybe have enough strength to go chase some crappies this afternoon. I am amazed at what great pictures my new phone takes!

I bought this one three years ago before I moved up here, never took it out of the box until the week before Burntside. I was going to bring it up there, but after spending 2 1/2 hours trying to get it set up in the garage and having half the bolts and nuts fall off I kicked it to the wall and said to heck with it. I was going to haul my old beat up Otter to Mille Lacs, but wanted to take the wheeler too. So I tackled the POS again and took that. The tent is so tight on the frame that the doors wont zip shut, I am going to set it up again at home and take a picture of it. Hopefully if I leave it set up for a while it will stretch out a little. Once we got it set up, it wasn't so bad. It at least kept the wind off of us. Friday and Saturday afternoon we fished out in the open and the wind was brutal. The air temp wasn't so bad but that wind went right through us. Sunday started out kinda breezy so we figured might as well give it a shot.

Tonight I am treating myself to either a margarita or a Mille Lacs wedding punch.....This is my anniversary, 20 years ago today I quit smoking!!!!

This donation will make 2 gallons. I had to give up donating for a while due to some medication I was on and now I try to get in more. It helps that my step mom used to work for Memorial Blood Centers for 27 years.

Hope

Barb congrats on the 20 years, with the prices I may have to consider quiting whistle

    • My kid was eating in Beverly Hills and ran into this guy. Talked to him a bit and wished him luck in the game tonight.
    • 🤔as a recovering machinist!🤣🤣that must make me a recovering welder!
    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
    • Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe.  I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho.  Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
    • The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there.  About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
    • It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway.  Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work.  You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water.  When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
